Merlin the bull
In the summer of 2006 we decided to purchase our own bull. I contacted many different people across Britain in search of a non-short, beefy, friendly young bull. Meeting other Dexter breeders and visiting their herds was great fun and I felt as though I learnt a lot. Eventually after much debate we decided to travel to Gloucestershire and buy a young red bull from Bill and Sue Osborne. They were genuinely very sad to see Merlin leave; unfortunately he had not got on too well with their other bull and thus they had been forced to sell.
Merlin settled into our herd fantastically and performed all his duties successfully for 4 years! This year we decided to sell him as we are short of grass and would like to start introducing new genetics to the herd. We are planning on giving AI a try!
